I am the sole author of “El Arreglo Un Puzzle de Expresión Musical,” which was commissioned by the SGAE in 1997 and published in 2005 by Bosch Música, Barcelona.
This book represents the outcome of an eight-year research project focused on studying arranging and orchestration in the Spanish language. It employs a contemporary approach to modern trends and styles, as well as impact voicings, linear writing, Latin music, making small bands sound big, string writing, vocal arranging, enhancing backgrounds, and studio versus live recordings.
“El arreglo” serves as an educational resource that satisfies the social need for understanding how music works in a contemporary group context, where most melodic lines are created in a controlled improvised setting. It explains how to achieve projection without the need for amplification.
Learn to apply the plain listening concept to music production, enabling instruments, melodies, and harmonies to be heard in a manner that would not occur in a natural projection of the vibrant source.
I have created the first complete textbook ever written in Spanish that details arranging and orchestration, which has achieved great success in Spanish and Latin American markets, as well as the United States. It has become a standard reference in Spanish and Latin American conservatories, schools of music, and universities.

Lo compré basándome en el índice pero luego de revisarlo me he quedado completamente satisfecho con los contenidos pues abarca de forma absolutamente ordenada, secuencial y completa cada una de las herramientas técnicas y creativas necesarias para realizar los mejores arreglos; y lo más importante siempre en el contexto de la música moderna. Los audios están muy bien logrados y resultan muy pedagógicos, especialmente en el capítulo sobre orquestación.
